Factories are used to create commodities. Factories can be divided into 2 types- commodity to commodity, or resource to commodity.

Commodity to Commodity (CC) factories will convert one type of commodity into another- for example, the File:4 (2).png Windmill converts 6 File:0.png Money into 6 File:2.png Power

Resource to Commodity (RC) factories will convert a resource, along with File:0.png money and/or File:2.png energy, into another commodity. (e.g. an File:6 (1).png Iron Smelter converts 1 File:3 (1).png Iron, 6 File:0.png Money, and 11 File:2.png Power, into 2 File:4 (1).png Metal.)

Production Capacity

Capture-0

Each factory has 48 production capacity. Each factories' production capacity is stated when it is being built. For example, the production capacity of a farm is stated when it is built. However, this isn't affected by the efficiency of the factory/ies that you already have. One production capacity is done in half an hour, so a factory fills up in a day

Efficiency

For most factories (exceptions being Brewery, Gemmer and include if you know) you can spend money, and/or building materials, and/or, metal to make it 10% more efficient, i.e I put in 4 money and 7 power (Tobacco plantation is below) to get 4 consumer goods. I can then increase the efficiency to get 4.4 Consumer Goods out instead. It is then rounded to the nearest number. However, it usually costs a lot, so it should be a long term investment, and used with many factories, not a few.
